Cloning Clyde - Best Bang for $10.00!

User Rating: 8.5 | Cloning Clyde X360
So when I got my XBox 360... it had some demo's on it. One of them was Cloning Clyde. A very simple 2D Side Scrolling type of game that is so very adictive! What's it all about... let me tell ya.

First of all you are this character Clyde and your mission, if you choose to accept it, (which for $10.00 I cannot see why anyone wouldn't) is to, you guessed it... clone yourself and get out of each level. It is actually alot more complicated than that. You start out in an office building where you have access to limited areas but in the ones you do have access to you can get on these platforms and teleport yourself to other worlds. When you arrive in each world you are given the task to try to rescue as many Clyde Clones you find (and or generate) into the ventalation shafts off to safety! While you search around for your clones... you also try to find all of the Killer Kenn Action Figures that are in each level. In order to do these tasks you must manipulate different types of machinery, gagets, or animals along the way in order to open doors, seal water holes and a various other traps that try to stop you in your quest. Some times you must use a special machine that will mutate you with another animal to be able to do certain tasks in that level. Some of the creatures you can be mutated with are sheep (allowing you to be able to jump higher), chickens (allowing you to fly), or frogs (allowing you to swim in deep water. You are also rated on the time it took to complete the level as well. Ever level you finish will unlock other levels, some secret ones too!

The graphics are pretty plain but very colorful and nice eye candy for the standard user. Nothing flashy here... but a great cartoon look to it. There are lots of sounds in the game and music here and there as well. I think one of my most favorite things is the way the Clyde Clones act when you pass by them. They say and do funny things to keep you amused. The XBox Live Achievement Rewards are few for this game. Only 12 total... but still some are quite fun to try to obtain.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a saturday rainy day type of game... that involves some logic/puzzles to it, and has a humorous side to it, this game would be right up your alley. The entire game can be completed in one afternoon but it does come with 3 skill levels and online play as well. For $10.00... you just cannot go wrong with Cloning Clyde!
