A honest opinion on the most underrated game of all time.
Gameplay: when it comes to gameplay, it's a cross between "God Of War" and "Zelda". The fighting system reminds us of "GOW" but it perfects the formula with both complexity and diversity. Basic moves are simple to pull, but the powerful ones require skill and timing. The sense of exploration is Epic with a vast and richly imagined world.
Graphics: Never have I played a PS3 game this beautiful. Seriously,there are moments in the game where I put the controller aside and just watch the beautiful environment.
Music: The music in the game suits the Gothic mood and epic battles, but is not so memorable, could have been better.Sound effects on the other hand, are spot on perfect.
Replay value: The game lasts for a lengthy 12 hours or so, not counting the downloadable chapters.
Note aside: Yes, the game does borrow heavily from other games, but does so with style and perfection. And the AI is the best I ever encountered in any game.
Overall: If this game came by another name, it would have received a perfect score. If you are looking for Castlevania, you won't find it here. Instead you will find a wonderful action-adventure game that deserves to be played more than once.
