Burn Baby Burn

User Rating: 7.6 | Burnout Dominator PS2
The difficulty in this game is higher than previous games and suggests this is a game for the fans or more hardcore gamers - however to progress is easy enough but to obtain the gold medals and cars throughout may be challenging.

The Gameplay is classic burnout with the essence of speed and your skill to dodge whilst driving at tremendously high speeds.
It can be quite difficult to make out the traffic and at such speeds can be annoying. Also an odd perspective depending on what mode you have the tv output on can make it that bit harder to judge missing traffic.
Various modes that seem a little messy and similar.
The progression is perhaps not as fine tuned as previous burnout games.

Graphics are detailed, with excellent effects, sharp and very colourful. But not as high polished as previous games. The cars dont look as detailed.
These issues could be that this game also appears on the psp hindering the PS2 version.

The sound is also not as good as past burnout games but the usual type of tracks the series is known for. The Avril lavigne track would have been an excellent choice for previous burnout games but as it is the best one this time around falls short with the overal expereince and a missfit with the other tracks. The game lasts as long as you want it to if you try for gold and coming back to previous races to unlock every challenge.

A great racing game with slick visuals, fast and addictive if hard gameplay.
