Nice presentation and an ok story but thats about it

Dont get me wrong, I appreciate presentation in adventure games. I like the big characters, the nice animation etc. But an adventure game is mostly about three things. Story, discovery and puzzles. In all three, BS5 is lazy at most. The story is OK, but not exceptional. It doesn´t reach conclusion this being an episodic game so it can still improve or end up a disaster. Up to now, although well told, it is just a just a version of a tale told countless times, rather a member of a family than an original with a soul of its own. Adventures being the champion of storytelling in games, this deficiency is hard to forgive. In terms of discovery, the game fails almost 100%. There is no wow moment, no revelation, not even some buildup of anticipation for one. It is almost a trip to the supermarket. A couple of well rounded characters somewhat redeem for the general lack of charm. Puzzles are poor. They are not illogical, but they are easy and uninspired adding to the overall watering down of the experience. Nevertheless I found myself using the inbuilt help system several times. I think it was because I wasn´t feeling it worth to fight for properly beating this game.
