The RPG that started it all for me.

I was never into RPG's untill I noticed BOF 3 at a friends house one time. I started to find it interesting, the whole atmosphere (music, graphics, characters, etc) it all started to look really appealing. I was starting to see what others saw in RPG's.

I absolutely love the music in this game as well as BOF 4's soundtrack. It really pulls you into what's happening onscreen at every and any time during the game.

When I play BOF3 or BOF4 I am in the same world as the character I control, sounds stupid doesn't it. But it's true. The whole BOF series is immersive (well minus BOF5 which was a disappointment for me personally). I love to play RPG's at night with the lights out it makes you more involved with the game I think.

There are bits of humour throughout this game, not too much, but just enough. The storyline is an interesting one for me. I was gripped right up till the end credits. I actually sat through the entire game and finished it. So not only was it the first RPG that got me interested in the genre. But it was the first one I finished (Shadow Hearts being the second RPG I finished).

The puzzles are not too hard. Although they do require a little bit of thinking. Like the one where you had to flick the switches in the right order under the castle in the cavern. There was like 12 Gravestone looking pillars and each had a switch but I didn't know which order to press them. So it was trial and error for me. But I got through it fine...in the end. I was proud of myself when I did it as I am not too good at puzzles lol.

I kind of felt sad when it ended as I was too busy enjoying myself in the world on display on my TV. It took me well over 40 hours to finish it. I think it was around 55 hours or so. Not bad I think for a beginner, at the time I was a beginner anyway.

Breath Of Fire is my favourite RPG series.
