Black Thorne is basically a Prince of Persia clone set in a strange, remote alien world.
The game is a jump n run game but very slow paced. The game is not a "scroller". Instead, you proceed from "screen" to "screen" (Prince of Persia again). The game is not an action game per se, although you can jump and shoot, you need to think ahead and use your grey cells in order to find the best way around the enemies. You can hide, run, jump, climb up and down and so forth. The game features all sorts of other obstacles you would expect from a "stalker" jump n run, such as doors and the like.
Another good point of the game is he graphics. the animation is breathtakingly good for the time, so is the level and char design. The overall atmosphere is very haunting and creepy. The game is set in a sort of strange, jungly, alien land. The tense atmosphere and the "slow" nature of the game make up a very thrilling mix and sometimes you will miss the right moments and opportunites by seconds only to get struck down by some alien. On the other hand, you will find yourself sighing out in relief whenever you manage to evade that some alien the next time.
HIghly recommend game for people looking after similar JumpNRun experiences as Prince of Persia or the Delphin Software games.
