A really emotional game

User Rating: 8 | Beyond: Two Souls PS3

Beyond: Two Souls for the Sony PlayStation 3 is about Jodie life with a entity tied to her since birth. When she was a kid, she had foster parent look out for her and sometimes at night, the "monsters" keep attacking her and Aiden (her tied entity spirit) keep acting up. In Jodie's early teen years, she's trying to fit in with the "normal" teens, which the "normal" teens either make fun of her and lied to her to show up in the bar. Halfway through out her life in the game, she been transfer to the CIA to be use as a agent to gather intel in Somalia an a warlord (in which turns out to be the President, who wanted to bring peace to his country), but after witness other people's life through the actions of what she was told of, Jodie was sick and tired of all these lies and run off. 3/4 of the game, she was homeless and feeling that the world is using her to do their biddings, she met some homeless people, who doesn't judge her and years later she came back to face her past. At the end of the game, Jodie was force to do one mission with her old CiA teammates and go destroyed the condenser (a spirit world portal) and she also destroy the US one has well when she was starting a new life to begin but there's a catch you can choose BEYOND or LIFE (Continue living and teaching other to defend themselves against angry spirits, if any country too stubborn to learn the real true, that living thing and spirits can't live together. The gameplay in Beyond: Two Souls is more like button input and quick time events where you have to dodge, timing and other action like interacting with objects, you control Jodie most of the time, but you could also control Aiden to go through certain walls, posses a person or choke them to death, but overall you get a very limited space to walk around. The graphics of Beyond: Two Souls is very close to life like to their actor/actress counterpart, you can see some black spots on Joel's face and the skins of every character looks very close to real life, sometimes the graphics suffers due to the PlayStation 3's home console spec which is notice like about 2-3 seconds in some scenes, but if you have a "fat" PlayStation 3 model, it might freeze on you. The sound in Beyond: Two Souls is good, the actor/actress did a great job provide the voices for the respected characters and kind of made it feel like a movie. Overall, Beyond: Two Souls is a very great game with lots of emotions you experience as a main character (Jodie) going through life and just trying to fit in like other normal people, just game is differently worth playing.
