Ooh, shiny rocks that move!

User Rating: 7.3 | Bejeweled 2 Deluxe X360
If you have a young family, love your xBox 360 and want to selfishly play the major titles online with your friends, don’t let your family see this game.

If you loved the triangular golf-tee game at Cracker Barrel, then this is your high tech Nirvana.

Bejeweled 2 is a wonderful evolution of this and other classic (move and take away) games that is easy to play in the early stages, yet hides some complexity as you progress. With four game styles to start and four un-lockable styles, you can easily get lost in process of making “shiny rocks explode.” You soon learn there are “special shiny rocks” that explode in more interesting ways.

It should go without saying that this is another beautifully executed HD puzzle game on the 360, but it is. The graphics of the game pieces, the backgrounds, and round transitions are fantastic. The music is unobtrusive and the in-game commentary is strangely compelling (especially when you pull off a move that garners an “Excellent!” from the announcer’s deep voice).

Give this one a try, but only if your children aren’t around since you’ll be fighting with them for months weeks to get back online with PGR3 once they find this game.
