User Rating: 8.5 | Battlefield 1943 X360
Battlefield 1943 brings back the favorite maps from Battlefield 1942, which was released on PC back in the 90s, and delivers the classic battlefield experiences which are somewhat lacking on consoles today and it only costs 1200 Microsoft points.

Battlefield 1943 contains three playable modes. The first mode is just a tutorial which basically takes you through the basics of the game. There you can practice flying airplanes, shooting tanks, or just spend time messing around destroying the environment. There are no computer controlled players during the tutorial. The other two gameplay options consist of multiplayer where one mode consists of air superiority and the other is the classic battlefield capture the flag gameplay.

Visually the game is similar to Battlefield Bad Company and overall the graphics are great. Some graphical issues arise occasionally such as random blackness and weird pop in issues that usually don't last very long.

Some major changes of importance:

*Most buildings are completely destructible. (The entire building can be reduced to its foundation.)
*Team killing has been disabled so now you can shoot anyone on you team and don't have to worry about running your teammates over with your vehicles.
*There are jets in the game which are able to bomb and shoot opposing planes.
*Ammunition never runs out.
*There is no bullet drop. Simply put your cross hairs on a target and shoot. However, you still have to lead your targets if the enemy is moving.
*There are only three playable classes: Rifleman, Demolition, and Scout. Demolition contains rocket launchers and the scout contains a sniper rifle and C4 charges.
*Flag captures happen at much faster rates than previous games. (This might be considered a negative to some.)
*There are three maps in addition to the air superiority mode that has its own map.

Overall Battlefield 1943 is excellent quality and entertainment for the 1200 Microsoft points. The battles are always intense whether you're dog fighting in the skies or shooting it out on the ground. All the weapons and vehicles appear to be balanced. In addition, the player cap in each game is just right. There will always be someone in your vicinity to kill if you are near the front lines.

Battlefield 1943 is definitely worthy of a purchase. It brings back the classic feeling of playing the older Battlefield games which most first person shooters seem to be lacking on consoles today. Do yourself a favor and download the demo or purchase the game.
