Finally finished assassin's creed 4. So how was it? Well surprisingly this game was much better than assassin's creed 3, considering how awful it was, it isn't saying much but still a much better game. I felt the strength of Assassin's Creed 4 was how open ended gameplay felt and there was always something very different you can participate if you get bored doing a certain task.
Where AC 4 failed me is when it tried to tell a story of how a flamboyant young soul would do anything for fame and glory to make his name mean something, later realized on pursuing such dreams, he lost more and gained very little. The story felt like badly put together puzzle blocks, the flow was extremely off, the game neither could make a solid cast of allies or villains. Not to mention the ending was really bad in the series, 2nd only to AC 3.
So yea, as expected Assassin's Creed 2 is still my favorite game in the series by far and one of the best games I've ever played, everything came together perfectly for that game. Still it is encouraging that the series didn't get any worse despite just a year after.
