Fun gameplay, visuals a bit off, glitchy in some areas, good story, lot of side quest and challenges to keep you playing

It's about time someone made a game in this time period. The story is already epic enough, and they put their own fictional twist to it. I loved the game play, the combat was solid and the environment was pretty large. There are plenty of weapons to choose from, you can hunt, build your homestead, and establish trade routes, craft items and trade them to various storefronts with caravans. One of my favorite parts to this game is the Naval missions. Eventually you get to captain your own ship and crew, upgrade it, and do missions to rid the seas of British ships and Privateers. There are few main missions that require you to use your ship, but most are side missions. Some of the animation is off with the characters, sometimes the voice isn't synced with their movement of the face, and some parts of the environment is kind of glitchy. When you go into the present time, is when the game loses its touch. The animation looks poor and the combat is off, all the pedestrians look the same and it looks like they may rushed it a bit. It's a small part of the game, but it made me kind of lose interest at some points. Overall decent game, I recommend renting it at least.
