Ubisoft spent fortune on marketing, trailers, reviews etc. They would made much much better use of those many if they spent it on game itself.
Let's start from gameplay: Our protagonist is once again the stupidest character you will ever control. Not talking about story, I'm talking about how hard it is to make him go where you want to go. This guy, like no other guys, follows camera rather than his head. Why? No one knows. He jumps where camera is turned not where his body is. This was not fixed since ACII. How come? Gameplay mechanics is the first thing EVERY good studio would correct it. Nop. Ubisoft does not. They put some new tricks, some new moves that works ok but at the same time running is still big issue for Assassin.
Graphics in the game is another huge inconsistency. "Old" America looks very nice. Big areas, nice character models, but there are very often big framerate drops that really are messing the whole effect. Another thing: Desmond sections. Those seriously looks ugly. Seriously. And "revelations" at the end? Some PS2 cinematics looked better.
Last thing is ending... This game have absolutely the worst ending in history. Easy, no spoilers here. It's totally detached form the rest of the game in almost every aspect. First of all it's stupid. Second of all it's boring. From one "revelation" to another you need to "go there do this, very simple and stupid thing"... Totally unnecessary platforming in very ugly world. WHY! Most aspect of a gameplay when you played as native American where at least interesting specially that story had some nice touches. But when you play as Desmond everything is dull. Even graphics (seriously). Your goals are stupid, world you moving around looks like PS2 version of the game, characters models looks like from first game... WHAT? Almost like Desmond sections where designed and executed by different studio... Ten years ago!
This game is 6.0 at it's best. Very few improvements. Most frustrating elements of previous games are still here. OH! And inventory system! Dear Lord what an imbecile designed that!
I will not recommend this game.
