No word on which apps will be available on the console.

The New Xbox One Experience, which released last year, made it possible for Microsoft's console to run Windows 10 apps. Now, it looks like it will be getting those applications soon. The news was reportedly confirmed by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella at a Madrid event in front of thousands of developers (via Windows Central).

Nadella announced the news, but he didn't say exactly when, where, or which apps would live on the Xbox One. It has not been confirmed whether the console will get its own version of the Windows 10 Store or if apps will be added to the existing store's app section.

Two of the possible apps could be Microsoft Word and Excel, and if you're thinking they probably wouldn't be too easy to use with the Xbox One controller, then you might be happy to know that Xbox head Phil Spencer mentioned keyboard and mouse support might happen.

The Windows 10 personal assistant, Cortana, made its way to Xbox One with last year's NXOE update.
