WoW Expansion Mists of Pandaria Drops to $10 Ahead of Warlords of Draenor's Release

Blizzard drops price ahead of Warlords of Draenor's release this fall.

Need to catch up on World of Warcraft expansions before the release of Warlords of Draenor this November? You're in luck, as Blizzard Entertainment is now selling the game's fourth and most recent expansion--2012's Mists of Pandaria--through Battle.net for $10.

That price is good for a digital copy of the expansion. If you want a physical, DVD version, Amazon is also offering Mists of Pandaria for $10. The expansion normally sells for $20.

Mists of Pandaria was released in September 2012 and, among other things, raised the level cap to 90 and introduced a new character class (the monk) and a new playable race (the pandaren). In our 7.5 review of Mists of Pandaria, we praised the expansion's wealth of new activities and beautiful new zones to explore. Check out our full review for more.

As for World of Warcraft's next expansion, Warlords of Draenor, it launches November 13 and introduces new zones and raises the level cap to 100.

the days of paying a monthly fee to play a game are over.

I really would play that, but I won't pay for the expansion when I still have to pay a monthly fee. I don't like it.

unfortunately the monthly fee is more expensive than the game

This will not convince me to come back.

Pandas 10$ + 50$ expansion + monthly fees

It's ok thanks, appreciate the offer but no thx. Pre ordered The Witcher 3 for 48$

I'll just watch Warlods of Draenor's cinematics on youtube. That's the best part of the game, is the epic cinematics.

I won't buy China Online and their Panda race even if it were $0,99. I 'might' get Warlords of Draenor, but only if the Chinese expansion is given for free AND I am able to skip it entirely aka level boosted AND WoD price is lower too. Even then pretending this panda joke happened would be impossible.

9.99 for MoP  and 49.99 for expansion !! hahahaha !! 49.99 !!  !! In Europe is 45 euros = 60$ !!!!

I was about to buy it and play but ... hell no , i wont be a victim here for these F greedy Once a huge fan of Blizzard ... now almost a hater... No i wont do it , i feel like a victim with the idea of giving them 60$ for an expansion and that wont happen. Let alone after all these years as a subscriber i feel even more as a victim when theyll raise subs fee in my region ....

-1 here blizzard. Keep your greediness and put it in your ...Ssa

To the few remaining people playing WoW: Do you want WoD, for $10? Wait 6 months for the next expansion to be near release and this one will drop in price - don't waste money beta testing expansions!

For some reason Blizzard gave me this expansion for free, not sure when that happened but I checked the other day & it was upgraded to the full MoP package. I used to play up until this expansion dropped, truly a horrible expansion, had no interest in it. Especially if they are giving it away for free in some cases. New expansion looks better done than MoP but I'm not going back, not paying that monthly fee anymore, if they ever drop the sub fees I might return but that is not bloody likely to happen either.

I got 10 days for free not long after this expansion dropped. This expansion is most definitely not worth $10 - plus the monthly fee rip off.

I used to love this game, but God has Blizzard screwed it up

Pretty good price considering the massive amount of stuff there is to do in Pandaria. I'm personally not a fan of the Timeless Isle, but if you're up for it, I recommend at the very least LFR'ing from Mogu'shan Vaults up through Throne of Thunder, if not running with a guild (unlikely since most guilds are progressing in Siege of Orgrimmar). There's some great raid content in this expac, and Pandaria itself has tons of little secrets and goodies to find that make exploration feel awesome gain.

It helps that it's jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and, oddly, the most naturalistic WoW expansion to date. Nothing feels out of place, and the transitions from zone-to-zone are much less than jarring. Almost makes me miss the red-to-blue-to-green-to-purple craziness of Burning Crusade.

Blizzard upped my account for free several months ago for some reason

They actually gave it to some people for free. I know, because I was one of the people. I originally refused to pay $40 for an expansion to such an ancient game, and as it kept dropping, I still wouldn`t pay. Then this weekend, it was suddenly on my account.

I wondered why Blizzard would do that, they said it was for some lucky people, like we won a lottery. Then I realized you would have to pay $14.99 to play the game, even for a month. So they gave away a $9.99 expansion, and want you to pay $14.99 in return, giving them a $5 profit just to try it out (since owning the expansion removes the 10-day trial!).

Activision sure is showing who`s in charge of that company.

You would have to pay me for playing that!

I own every WoW book ever written... Every Collector's edition game box.... Even all of the short-lived, Magazines. Toys..posters... T-Shirts.. you name it. Was a huge fan. Had a large guild active and raiding away. I had a great time. I love the lore, the friends I made, the everything. Then Cata came out. A couple of months in, the guild started shrinking. People stopped logging in. We tried events, mass invites, incentives...Guilds all around us went through the same thing. However, somehow we managed to keep our core together, and raided all the way to the end. However, keeping people interested became next to impossible. It just became boring. The content went too quick, and this new plan....making us do piles of dailies started. Then MoP came out, and with that, was the end of our guild. It shrank from over 227 players down to 6 or so barely active. It was very sad. A lot of hard work went into it, and I was unhappy to see it die. NO one wanted to play the new expansion. With it's childish new races... badly written stories, and barely following the lore.... no to mention the addition of what only seemed to be even more dailies...dailies upon dailies upon dailies....and with each patch... more dailies...The general nerfing of the entire game to cater more to the casual player.... was such a huge disappointment. I quit wow 4 months in, and closed the guild down. Was a sad day for me. I really enjoyed this game and all of the friends I had made and the good times we had. Now games I had paid top dollar for are being sold at a fraction, and the new content....... I've been watching beta play. It just doesn't have that certain something anymore. There are going to be the fanbois that disagree because you lick up whatever Blizzardvision tosses on your plate, but I don't. I was really hoping for a come back. I just don't see it. The more you cater to casuals, the more you pump out this badly written content, the more you try to push dailies on us instead of real gaming....the less people you will have. The proof is in the pudding. Half the game base agreed with me ages ago and have already left. I tried to stick it out. Just can't . Sad to see. I really enjoy the story..... On a side note, if you had kept the Worgen you had in the beta and not the stupid stuffed animal types of today....... They went from bad ass to something my daughter would want to hug. Lame?

I've heard they're going to make a reboot on the character status and make the hp/mp number less astronomical.

Wow, thats acually a pretty massive difference. Then again its the sub fee thats the main investment, and for alot of people (myself included) its not really a matter of price. I would pay 50$ a month if the game was awesome, but wouldnt spend time on a boring one, even if it was free.

ps. and wow is well.. by now.. quite boring, sorry.

Yeah, no thanks Blizzard. Your game is dying and your subs are rising. Just let it die so we can get Warcraft IV.

@lilflipp yeh theyre crazy ! give the expansion for free if your gonna be milking people while sitting on a dying cash cow

Moo moo to you Activision!

I stopped giving money++ to these guys every month. instead, now i use that cash to buy games on steam. so these days I have a much bigger and more varied game collection to keep me amused :)

@NetBiosError  Someone forgets that for all these to happen you need 13 per month so ... i dont get this " its pretty good price considering the massive amount of stuff there is to do ""

Automatically the 9.99 is 23$. So please guys ...This is not one time payment ...Come on...

@Jjinne This is a prime example of why you shouldn't commit so much to a video game. It's important to remember that it's just a game, you'll be less disappointed in the end.

The3DWizard

@mdign Yeah, actually that is the one thing that annoyed me the most about WOW. All of Blizzard was suddenly focused on developing content for their most successful (from a financial point) product. So there was no real hope for a Warcraft IV or any other new creative game. Blizzard still got it, but they do not use their potential due to financial aspects. Sad story.

@mdign I think you meant your subs are dropping...

@Kjranu @Jjinne I never forget that it is a game. It was a game that Myself and millions of others loved. It's what I love to do. I'm a Gamer. It's my choice of recreation. I met many friends in my games. Meet and greets, activities...Even my fiance. So, thank you for the comment, but your thinly veiled slight against non-casuals isn't getting my thumbs up.
