Watch People Make Elaborate Halo-Themed Cakes on Tonight's Cake Wars

If there's an Arbiter cake, how will the baker make up for the absence of Keith David's dulcet tones?

Tonight's episode of Cake Wars, a show in which purveyors of confectioneries compete to create cakes based on million- and billion-dollar intellectual properties, is dedicated entirely to Halo.

The news was announced today by Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, who serves as a guest judge. This episode of Cake Wars--not to be confused with Cake Boss, Cupcake Wars, or Pie Assault, only one of which is made up--will see four bakers compete to create the best Halo-themed cakes. This was filmed months ago, as the prize involves $10,000 and a trip to this year's Halo World Championship, which took place in March.

Today marks the debut of the episode and provides us with our first glimpse at what the contestants will come up with. Will we see a Pillar of Autumn cake? Will someone throw the competition by creating a disgusting-looking Gravemind cake? Will the losers complain that they lost due to someone having host advantage?

You can find out for yourself when the episode airs tonight, August 1, at 9 PM ET/8PM CT on Food Network. According to the show's website, it'll air again at 12 AM on August 2 and again at 5 PM on August 6.

This isn't the first time an episode of the show has been dedicated to a video game or video game company: Both Minecraft and Nintendo have gotten the spotlight. Others have centered around Star Wars, Shrek, and The Simpsons.
