A week after Dying Light developer Techland announced the formation of a publishing label, the company today announced a partnership with inXile Entertainment to publish the physical retail version of Torment: Tides of Numenera.

This news comes less than 24 hours after inXile announced that the PC RPG was delayed to Q1 2017, which means it will be out in the January-March window. Tides of Numenera was originally expected to come out in 2015, before moving to 2016 and then again to 2017.

Tides of Numenera is the first game Techland will publish under its new publishing division, Techland Publishing, but it won't be the last (more on that later). A specific release date for the game has not been announced.

It was also confirmed today that the physical retail edition of Tides of Numenera will include "a number of physical and digital bonuses that will ease players into the unique world of Numenera and further increase their immersion in the story." No further specifics have been provided.

When Techland announced its publishing division last week, the company said it would release two "major multiplatform titles" every year. In addition to these, it will distribute four titles digitally each year.

As for why Tides of Numenera was delayed, inXile said it's partially the result of needing more time to complete the localization process.

"We know it's frustrating to wait a little longer, but we've come this far," inXile's Brian Fargo explained at the time. "These types of trade-offs are never easy, but from day one it's been our goal to make Torment the masterpiece you deserve."
