Lucasfilm announced today that it's cast Donald Glover (Community) as Lando Calrissian in the standalone Han Solo film. Glover is best known for his rap music that he performs as Childish Gambino.

The Han Solo film explores what the character, played by Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!), was like during his formative years. Not much is known about the story, other than the fact that he'll come across Lando at some point. It's helmed by 21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are happy to have Glover join the cast.

"We're so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us," said Lord and Miller. "These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we'd like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever."

Glover currently stars in and writes FX comedy series Atlanta and will appear in next year's Spider-Man: Homecoming. He most recently featured in The Martian and Magic Mike XXL.

The untitled Star Wars movie is written by Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon. The film is set to be Lawrence's last Star Wars movie. It starts production in January.
