SoulCalibur 6 Debuts First Footage Of Guest DLC Character Haohmaru

Haohmaru is part of the second season of DLC.

SoulCalibur VI's next guest character, Haohmaru from Samurai Shodown, was announced back in August 2019. He's one of four new characters joining the game in this DLC season, but until now we'd seen no footage of the swordsman in action.

Now, a first-look trailer for Haohmaru has been released, showing the samurai slashing through SoulCalibur stalwart Heishiro. The footage below gives us a sense of how well Haohmaru will fit into the world of Namco Bandai's fighting game.

Now Playing: SOULCALIBUR VI - Haohmaru Guest Character And Season Pass 2 Reveal Trailer

The character is set to join the game in the "spring," although a specific release date has not been nailed down beyond that. The SoulCalibur World Tour 2020 is currently underway, having begun in Tokyo over the weekend of January 25-26.

The SoulCalibur series is no stranger to guest fighters--previous guests include Link from The Legend of Zelda (SoulCalibur II on GameCube), Darth Vader (SoulCalibur IV on PS3), Ezio from Assassin's Creed (SoulCalibur V) and Geralt of Rivia (SoulCalibur VI at launch).

SoulCalibur VI received an 8/10 in our review, and reviewer Tamoor Hussain praised it for being easy to access and challenging to master. "Like all the best titles in the genre, it has a low barrier to entry and high skill ceiling. For those looking to get in a few games with friends it's welcoming and immediately enjoyable. For those committed to ploughing the depths of its systems to get tournament ready, it has plenty to unpack and understand."
