Psyonix has outlined some of the changes and additions coming in the next patch for its hit soccer-with-cars game, Rocket League.

These details were shared over a series of tweets sent out by the official Rocket League Twitter account. Patch 1.05 appears to primarily deal with resolving nagging issues, but it also offers some new features, such as adding (at least) two new flags, the Chivalry: Medieval Warfare-themed ones pictured below. (Chivalry is also getting some Rocket League-themed stuff of its own.)

With the patch, players will be able to search for a new ranked match from the post-game screen. Currently, you have to exit back to the main menu (meaning you have to sit through a loading screen) in order to seek another match. Ranked play will also see its first proper season begin with the release of the update.

1.05 introduces a new interface for the music player, allowing you to rotate through Rocket League's music at will. You won't, however, be able to play music while inside of the game. That's because it's "a much bigger design/impact on the game question with heavy UI implications."

As for fixes, it's now less likely that your saves will be corrupted; usernames for PC players will no longer sometimes appear as asterisks to PS4 players; PC players can choose not to play with PS4 players (PS4 players already have this option for PC players); and text chat will no longer be broken after using suspend/resume on PS4.

1.05 does not yet have a release date, but it's due out "in two weeks or less." Once that's out, Psyonix will announce the next DLC, which will again include new vehicles.

Rocket League has proven to be tremendously popular since its release in July; it quickly surpassed 5 million downloads. Psyonix recently revealed the PC version alone has sold more than 1 million units, and it's now being given away for free to anyone who preorders a piece of Steam hardware.
