Sony will conduct routine maintenance on the PlayStation Network early next week, the company has announced. The only affected platform is PlayStation 4, Sony said in a update to its PSN status page.

The one-hour maintenance period will run from 10:30 PM PT to 11:30 PM PT on October 25, which comes out to 1:30 AM ET to 2:30 AM ET on October 26.

During the maintenance period, users can still sign into PSN, play games, and use "most" applications. However, Account Management, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Store will be down.

"We apologize for any inconvenience," Sony said. "We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance."

The newest PS4 update was 4.01, which came out earlier this month. It didn't do much, as it "improve[d] the quality of the system performance," but didn't add any new features.

PS4 4.00, the console's latest major update, came out in September. It introduced folders for managing games and apps, while some menus were also redesigned. PS4 4.00 also added HDR support for all PS4s.

You can see everything new and changed for PS4 4.00 in GameSpot's previous report.

The PS4 Slim came out in September, priced at $300. Sony will launch its new, more powerful PS4 Pro in November. This console is priced $400 and you can learn more about it in our new overview feature.
