PS4's Deep Down Trademarked Again By Capcom

Where is Deep Down?

Publisher Capcom has filed another trademark in the US for PS4-exclusive dungeon-crawler Deep Down.

The application was submitted on February 9, 2017, and it is the second of its kind; a previous Deep Down trademark from July 2013 is still active. The two applications are identical.

Whether the trademark means anything in particular is not clear--it does not necessarily mean Deep Down is about to make a comeback.

Deep Down was announced at the PlayStation 4 reveal event in early 2013, but has since gone quiet. After announcing the game would be free-to-play, Capcom delayed the game in 2014, stating, "we want to finish a game that fully uses the PS4 hardware specs."

Other than a couple of trailers, that was the last we heard of Deep Down until 2015, when Capcom reassured fans the game was not canceled, but said that changes were on the way so it "might take just a little longer."

The game, which is set in 2094 New York, will deliver a "realer than real" experience, according to Capcom.
