Official Grand Theft Auto playlists come to Spotify

Not all tracks are available on music streaming service, but almost every GTA radio station features in some form.

Rockstar Games has assembled Spotify playlists for many of the radio stations featured across the Grand Theft Auto series.

The developer has included the soundtracks to Grand Theft Auto IV and the follow-up Episodes From Liberty City, alongside the PlayStation 2-era trilogy San Andreas, Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto III.

Music from handheld titles Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and Chinatown Wars is also provided.

Some tracks are absent or subject to regional restrictions, though Rockstar said, "We're hoping to be able to add the original songs within our control where possible soon."

A full list of links, including iTunes playlists, can be found on Rockstar's site.

Rockstar also points to its page for The Advertising Council as a growing repository for the series' satirical radio advertisements, currently promising that the commercials to Grand Theft Auto IV are coming soon.

Grand Theft Auto V will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17, and the game's cover art was recently revealed.

I hope the soundtrack in this one is decent. I felt they hit the nail on the head with GTAIII's soundtrack. The music on IV was total dogshit.

What they really need to do is add VCPR, KCHAT, Chatterbox, and...I don't know if SA or GTAIV even had talk channels on the radio.  The three from Vice City and III were a hoot.

"If the police cant catch you, then you must be on the DST."San Andreas is still my favorite and imo has the best soundtrack.

Can't say I'm a big Rockstar fan. But if there's one thing they really nail, its using their soundtracks to create a distinctive atmosphere.

I've been waiting for something like this instead of going out to find them on my own. Especially Vice City. Thanks Rockstar!

Rockstar- Always in hyper-constipation mode.  And 5 or 6 years later, they crap out platinum

They should add the talk stations as well. Loved listening to VCPR. That stuff was just hilarious.

Always on is a recipe for disaster and a lot of gamers won't even be able to use the system due to no internet, poor internet, or expensive internet. Microsoft will be shooting themselves in the foot if they go in this direction. I don't understand why they would do anything to alienate gamers at this point. The Wii U isn't doing well and the PS4 demo was lackluster. All Microsoft has to do is release a good system that makes gamers happy and they will win this battle easily. This always on deal will just kill it for many people and the attitude of that Microsoft exec isn't helping them any either.

Unfortunately my favorites from Radio Broker are missing. Good thing they can be downloaded seperately.

Very cool Rockstar.  It's the little things like this that make me keep buying your games.

EA, Ubisoft, and Activision would be too busy making the radio stations available through DLC, locked on the disc, and always-online DRM.

@keshavmix "Your" concept was based on their game and someone elses music, count yourself lucky you were allowed some success at least and haven't been sued.

@Aspire85  Hearing some jazz while driving in the evening during  a thunderstorm was kinda cool. Made me feel all cozy inside.

@Aspire85 I liked the music in GTA IV. David Bowie, the Smashing Pumpkins, Elton John, Queen, there were some good tracks in there.

@daabulls23 Chatterbox in GTAIII with Lazlo was a laugh riot.  I had to pull the car over and put the controller down a couple of times.

@polterdice Ubisoft have been moving away from always-online DRM, and locked-on-disc is a Capcom schtick.

@Aspire85 GTA 4 had good music on the lost and damned expansion. Especially the LBCHC radio with Sepultura, Deicide, At The Gates, Kreator, Cannibal Corpse, and also Gta4 had Liberty Rock station with Dio sabbath. and Maiden. it was not all bad music.

polterdice

@syafiqjabar @polterdice I forgot Capcom!  Sorry it was late.  My always-online DRM was geared more toward Activision-Blizzard.  Ubisoft still has years of making up to do before I remove them from that category.
