Bryan Cranston voiced villains in the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, and now he's set to play the Rangers' mentor and creator Zordon in the upcoming movie. Cranston spoke to Entertainment Tonight recently about his role in the film.

"It's motion capture, and it's a lot of CGI-work," Cranston told ET about what he has to do to portray Zordon in the film. The Breaking Bad star also discussed the character's backstory, which wasn't delved into during the original series.

"The tenant of that storyline is that this a real person who is trapped in this etherworld, and it becomes this in-the-wall so to speak of [the command center]," Cranston explained. "He still has a heart and mind, but an agenda that he's got to get these five Power Rangers to defend the earth or else everyone they know will be killed."

Power Rangers opens in theaters on March 24, 2017. The cast includes Elizabeth Banks as villain Rita Repulsa, while the Rangers are played by Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger), RJ Cyler (Blue Ranger), Becky G (Yellow Ranger), Ludi Lin (Black Ranger), and Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger). You can check out the new Power Rangers' costumes here--they kind of look like something out of Halo.

The rebooted Power Rangers movie could be the first of many. In a conference call with analysts, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said the production company is "really, really excited about the Power Rangers movie" and "could see doing five or six or seven."

The movie's first poster was recently revealed, and it features the five Rangers out of costume, standing on a car.
