The upcoming Kong; Skull Island promises to feature not only King Kong, but a whole island of terrifying beasts. The first trailer released in November gave fans a taste of what to expect, and now a thrilling Japanese teaser has arrived. Check it out below:

Kong: Skull Island stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson, John C Reilly, Corey Hawkins, and John Goodman, with Jordan Vogt-Roberts directing.

In a recent interview, Hawkins revealed that despite the scary threat in the trailers, the film wouldn't be entirely dark. "The tone of the movie is the tone of the set," he said, via Collider. "There were serious undercurrents of shooting this film, and then there was shooting with these guys--you've seen the cast--it was one of those journeys.

"We got the opportunity to find the light moments. It can't be all serious at all times, and I think in our darkest moments you have to find the humor and the lightness. Sometimes humor is necessary to get you through. It's honest."

In 2015, it was announced that the film would form part of an ongoing monster movie series. Following the success of 2014's Godzilla, producers Legendary have teamed up with Warner to create a "shared cinematic franchise" that will also include Godzilla: King of Monsters in 2018 and Godzilla Vs Kong in 2020.

Kong: Skull Island hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
