Nintendo has refreshed the My Nintendo program with a handful of new rewards to spend your Gold and Platinum points on. As usual, August's selection of rewards primarily take the form of discounts for certain 3DS and Wii U games, and they cover some great recent and classic titles for both platforms.

On the 3DS side, My Nintendo members can get 30% off of Metroid: Samus Returns (90 Gold coins). A reimagining of the series' sole Game Boy installment, Metroid II, Samus Returns takes the bounty hunter to the Metroid homeworld of SR388 on a mission to eradicate the monsters. It's also notable for being the first new side-scrolling Metroid game in more than a decade, since Metroid: Zero Mission released for Game Boy Advance back in 2004.
