Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Arrives This October In Japan, US Gamers Need to Wait Until Early 2015

Capcom announces October 11 release date for upcoming action RPG.

Capcom's 3DS action role-playing game Monster Hunter 4G (known as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate in the West) will arrive on October 11 in Japan, the publisher announced today. The release date was confirmed in a new trailer for the game, which you can see above.

Monster Hunter fans in the West will need to wait a bit longer for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, as the game does not arrive in the United States and Europe until "early 2015."

When Capcom announced Monster Hunter 4G/Ultimate in January, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto had this to say about the game: "While we wanted to maintain the familiar features that fans have come to love, we really wanted to evolve the series in a new direction, to appeal to existing players and attract new ones as well."

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will have more vertical and lateral movement than seen in past games, which Capcom says should allow players new possibilities. The game also includes online and local wireless multiplayer. The original Monster Hunter 4, released in 2013, has sold over 4.1 million copies.

I know its big on the 3ds in Japan, but in the West the best infrastructure is on the PS/One/PC systems, so they really should start thinking about shifting their Western releases so people can play on psn and live, versus the really poor Nintendo system.

Will they ever release a new monster hunter on PC?

I really wish they would do a real full on new gen version of that game.  I liked MH3 on the 3DS and on the Wii U when I had it, but I would much rather play it on my XBO or something :(  I never played these games until said Wii U version and I really enjoyed it..

I'd have rather played it on Wii U

I wonder how many sales it will cost Capcom, releasing it to the home country first?  Fourth Quarter releases in the US, really benefit from the Xmas sales boom...1st Quarter sales are always down in the US.  I don't think many other countries really skew sales due to Xmas like the US does.

Can't wait. Bring it!

I should play MH3U a bit more, too...

Fine by me, I can wait till next year to play it on my 3DS XL and I got plenty of games to keep me busy this year.

Anyhow, I'm sure WolfGrey will be porting this to the states since he's good at this stuff when it comes to Monster Hunter.

I'd like it on PS4, but I know that's not happening.

@manga202020 Well there's Monster Hunter Frontier G that might make it over here on PC, PS3, Vita, Wii U. But it's an MMO, always online, subscription based, so yeah that might turn away a lot of people.

@pork7 Might want to hold out for the Super Turbo Deluxe MH4 Edition instead.

@Suaron_x It'll sell more than 2 millions alone. Monster Hunter 4 sold 2 millions in about a week and half.
