Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer, who works on the team responsible for signing Xbox games, has said that the Crackdown franchise is "important" and would like to see it return on the Xbox One.

"People seem to hate when I tease Crackdown stuff," Spencer said on Twitter. "[Crackdown 1] is one of my favs. It's an important IP; I want a future for it on Xbox One."

The most recent Crackdown game was 2010's Crackdown 2, developed by independent Scottish developer Ruffian Games. The series has been dormant since.

This is not the first time Spencer has spoken about his admiration for the Crackdown series. This summer, Spencer said he would like to see the franchise return with the "right team and time."
