The savings supposedly start next week.

Get your wallets ready. The start-date for Steam's annual Winter sale may have been revealed.

A new promotional website from PayPal (via ShackNews) states that the PC sale period will begin Tuesday, December 22. An end-date was not announced, but we'd expect it to run for at least a week and possibly until the New Year.

A previous report suggested that Steam's Winter sale would run December 22-January 4. That same report also claimed the Fall and Winter sales would do away with daily deals and flash deals. That turned out to be true for the Fall sale, but it remains to be seen how the Winter sale will work.

This is not the first time PayPal has tipped us off to Steam sale start-dates. The company's listings have been accurate in the past, but for now, consider this to be unconfirmed.

December 22 is also the start-date for Xbox Live's huge "Countdown" sale, while the third week of PlayStation Network's Holiday sale also starts that week. We'll have roundups of all the best deals next week when they're announced.
