The Evil Within, the upcoming horror game from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and his Tango Gameworks studio, will be brought to life by three film and TV stars, publisher Bethesda announced today.
Actors from movies like Watchmen and Nightmare on Elm Street (the 2010 re-imagining) and TV shows like Dexter and Hell on Wheels are lending their voices to the game, which launches in October. See a full roundup below.
- Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, A Nightmare on Elm Street) - Main antagonist Ruvik
- Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) - Protagonist Sebastian Castellanos
- Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) - Sebastian's junior detective partner, Juli Kidman
You get to play as Juli Kidman in add-on content for The Evil Within that will be released down the road as part of the the game's $20 DLC pass. Presumably, you'll also be able to buy this content separately.
"One of the most crucial elements to any successful survival horror game is the setting and sound, which includes the depth and authenticity of the voice acting," Mikami said in a statement. "We brought together a great cast of experienced actors to help ensure that players really believe our characters' emotions and the tension they feel in every scene."
The Evil Within launches on October 14 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage, or watch 60 minutes of gameplay right here.
