Gamers in Japan hoping to play the long-awaited PSP role-playing game Final Fantasy Type-0 will have to wait a little longer. According to a recent interview on the latest issue of Famitsu (translated by Andriasang.com), the game will be delayed from its original summer release to just "2011" on its release schedule. Director Hajime Tabata said that the game probably won't make its original release date "due to various circumstances, [as] it became difficult to release it during the short-sleeve shirt season."

Class will only be in session this fall.

Tabata said that the April PlayStation Network outage affected the development of the game's multiplayer. Character designer Tetsuya Nomura said in the article that players will have to "wait until the season of red leaves" for the game to come out, an obvious hint that the game will be out this fall.

In related news, more details were revealed about the game. For starters, the game's length will be about 30 to 40 hours long, with an additional 60 hours for players willing to finish the game to completion, side quests and all. In addition, the in-game weather will affect the effectiveness of weapons. Game development is now at 80 percent, with the team now working on the ad hoc play component for multiplayer.

Nomura said in the interview that Square Enix is looking to have a downloadable version and overseas version of the game. The release dates for these versions of the RPG are yet to be determined.

Players in Japan who wish to check out the demo of the PSP action RPG will get to play it at the United States of Odaiba 2011 event in Tokyo, Japan. The event is hosted by Fuji TV and will be held from July 16 to August 31. In addition, a demo of Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3, another title from Square Enix, will be available for the public.
