E3 2014: Original Bayonetta Included With Bayonetta 2, Coming October

Two Bayonetta games on Wii U for the price of one.

by

Nintendo has announced that the original Bayonetta will be included with copies of Bayonetta 2 when the latter launches exclusively for the Wii U in October 2014.

The news was announced at Nintendo's Digital Event at E3 2014, along with a new trailer for the game showing off some of the combat and hinting at the game's story, which has something to do with the gates of hell. The Wii U version of the original Bayonetta will also feature a bunch of Nintendo-inspired costumes, with Bayonetta shown in both Link and Samus outfits.

The original Bayonetta launched for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2010. It got a review score of 9 from GameSpot back in the day.

I'm a fan of Bayonetta, but I will not buy a weakness operation, no trophies or achievements, super small HDD capacity 32GB... Wii U system just to play it.

Hey Nintendo, you know what I will goto youtube and watch the whole walk-thought for free lol.

I hate Nintendo so so much because they bought Resident Evil remake, Fatal Frame 2 remake and 4 for their super stupid Wii system, remember that?

Can't wait to play through the original again at 60fps. Can finally set fire to my day one xbox 360 with no regrets.

I think I'll put off my plans to get the original on 360 for when I buy a Wii U and this package. :)

Already got the original on the 360 but the console belongs to my bro so I wouldn't mind getting the first game again. I'm hoping this comes in physical discs because the Wii U's storage is bleh.

This is such a great idea, to include the first Bayonetta. The reason I bought my 360 was because I read that Bayonetta ran better on the 360 compared to the PS3. I still have that 360.

Getting both games in the same package is a massive plus for the fans of the best hard-action game ever made since the original Devil May Cry. Bayonetta is practically the female version of the original Dante. Both bad asses with attitude problems... so, so good.

Can't wait to get this.

This is an excellent response to a concern I've heard a lot about the lack of a clear console path from the multiplatform Bayonetta to Wii U exclusive Bayonetta 2.  Not to mention a very appealing value.

The original Bayonetta is a great inclusion!

Bayonetta dressed up as Link + Bayonetta 2? Nintendo may have sealed the deal to get me to purchase their newest console.

Good deal.  I wonder if they will change the contents of the first game.

Well looks like I know when I might be getting my Wii U. Nice to see the inclusion of the original Bayonetta even though I already own a copy.

With the amount of rancor that Nintendo fans are giving people about this, I should point out the following:

- This is not a Nintendo fan center. If you guys only want to gush over what you saw, that's fine. There's a Nintendo forum for it, go to town. Here, you mix with the common folk. :-) And if we don't think as highly of your divine quartet as you do, you should be trying to encourage us to play them, instead of telling us to shut up and go away.

- Nintendo is the one steering your ship, we're just watching it bounce into icebergs. I don't think anything I say here, is going to reach a Nintendo member of the board enough, to cause change. I'm speaking, largely to the gaming public more than Nintendo. Neither you nor I have done anything to alter Nintendo's course over the years, and insulting other people for their views, is not going to change that.

- The fact that Nintendo keeps focusing and refocusing on it's own IP's to the near exclusion of anyone else, is exactly how with a one year head start, Nintendo couldn't do the same business with the WiiU in almost two years, that Sony did with the PS4 in eight months. No one's able to contest this. That should be an indication like no other, that the majority of gamers, just aren't into what Nintendo's selling.

So....wow, that was easier than I thought. :-)

Thank goodness I didn't buy the PS3 version (originally played it on my 360 but I no longer have a 360). More value/reason to get a game I had every intention on picking up day one!

@chuchu2014

Ladies and gentlemen, here's a prime example of what a bratty little b!tch sounds like, aka gaming industry poison.

Yes, how DARE Nintendo secure exclusives for their consoles! (Psst, the RE remake was for the Gamecube, not Wii), Resident Evil 4 was ported to practically every home console so I don't know what you're b!tching about, oh and they own part of the Fatal Frame IP so it's only natural that every game that comes out is exclusive to Nintendo's systems.

Go ahead and WATCH Bayonetta 2, but don't be fooling yourself thinking you're going to have anywhere near as much fun as those who are actually playing it. Last I checked, Bayonetta was known for its amazing gameplay, not its story, so go ahead and be a b!tch, I'll be having a blast with both entries because I don't give a damn about a shallow form of validation such as achievements/trophies.

@Khasym I see. You are entitled to an opinion but no one else is (unless they agree with yours.) That is about as hypocritical as it gets, guy.

Worthless speech.

@SpLiTMaN

SEGA owns the 1st game and Nintendo owns the 2nd, to add value to the 2nd game, they're including the first with extra features since the Wii U never had the original title.

It's sound logic, something you apparently lack.

@Link3301 Same, my friends loved this game. But, my 360 at the time red ringed, so never got started.

@leikeylosh You could say that about 90% of the exclusives.  Just sucks more for you is all.

I'm sorry. :-) before the millennium, I was a diehard nintendo fan. But one game that MIGHT appeal to me, on a console that doesn't, isn't going to make me buy either. MAYBE, if somehow, the WiiU came out with a $100 bundle that included Bayonetta 2 on it, I could see the value in buying that one game. But I don't like Zelda, Metroid, Mario or Pokemon. Splatoon was kind of silly to me, and the thought of Dynasty Warriors teaming up with Zelda......uggggghhhhh. And lest we forget, Bayonetta 2, is the ONLY third party game being spoken of by Nintendo.

I WANT to see Nintendo return to it's glory days, when it DIDN'T revolve everything around Zelda Mario and Metroid. When it could bring an arcade experience to a console, without dumping all over the port. But until then, I feel the only thing I can do, is keep telling Nintendo that for all their bluster, I just can't be made to care.

@chev93489 I don't know why you think I would talk crap about the DS. I think Nintendo's doing just fine with the DS. They cleaned Sony's clock twice with the DS and even sent the PSP to an early grave. Show me the post where I called Nintendo evil over online shutdowns. I'd love to see it.

Khasym
Khasym

@Pattonfiend67 Well let's see. Because I said I didn't care about one Nintendo game, I've been told Shut up and go away. Because I said this wasn't a Nintendo fan forum, you've just called me a hypocrite for saying Nintendo fans should be encouraging and talking with non-fans about how Nintendo games could appeal to us. And because myself and the only other people here who didn't like what they saw from Nintendo, discussed it here, and were attacked personally for it, you think it's worthless? Welcome to the quality of a Nintendo fan. Instead of discussing their games, they prefer personal attacks and telling dissenters to be quiet and leave. I'm guessing this is why Nintendo is dead last in the home console race.

@Khasym

  • Activision  - Skylanders Trap Team  - Oct. 5
  • Activision – Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark – June 24
  • BANDAI NAMCO – PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures 2 – October
  • Disney – Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) – Fall
  • Little Orbit – Falling Skies: The Game – Sept. 23
  • Little Orbit – How to Train Your Dragon 2 – June 10
  • Midnight City – Costume Quest 2 – October
  • SEGA – Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric – November
  • Ubisoft – Just Dance 2015 – October
  • Ubisoft – Watch Dogs – 2014
  • Warner Bros. -LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - Fall

all of them are third party games (I didn't count the indie games which are a way larger list)

AyatollaofRnR
AyatollaofRnR

@Khasym So you don't like Nintendo games? Move on with your life.

I've mostly transitioned to gaming on Xbox, but still enjoy Nintendo's titles enough to own their platforms. I haven't taken the plunge on WiiU yet, but will later this year.

Darksimm
Darksimm

@Khasym And I'm sure with the amount of money that have stashed away at Mario savings and associates, they pretty much don't care about you either. And you might want to get more informed they also have X as an exclusive 3rd party game which was also spoken about.

Khasym
Khasym

@ratulx Eleven games, with all but two falling neatly into Nintendo's cartoony view of video games. Of the two that don't, one is a franchise that's out now instead of waiting for Q4 2014. And of the games that are on this list, most either are coming from, or serving as the launching point for, new television series

  • Falling Skies(action drama spinoff)
  • Transformers(cartoon spinoff)
  • PAC-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2(cartoon spinoff sequel)
  • Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes 2.0(cartoon franchise spinoff)
  • How to Train Your Dragon 2(Movie spinoff)
  • Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric(Cartoon prequel)
I won't add Lego only because the branding with a show isn't as obvious. There is a Lego Ninjago show, and there was the Lego movie and it's TV movies, but the Batman game isn't tied into any of them. And we all know how movie/Tv series tie in games usually turn out.

Khasym
Khasym

@AyatollaofRnR Again, why do I need to do something? If you were a Sony dissenter who hadn't bought a PS3 or PS4 and came to a PS4 forum page, I wouldn't be telling you to move on. I'd be trying to show you the value in both. I'd be talking about Sony's Gaikai PS Now service for the PS4, PS3, Vita and Sony TV's that will let you play PS3 games on a number of devices as well as stream content from places like Hulu and Netflix. I'd be talking about the nice indie scene that Sony has, and persuading you to uy a used PS vita or PS3 to give them a try at a reduced price. I'd explain how they learned heavily from the mistakes of the PS3 launch and PS+ server outages, and are no longer stonewalling console owners. I'd be an advocate of the PS3, not an insulter of you.

Khasym
Khasym

@Darksimm Let me clarify further: By the end of the NES' lifespan, over 700 games had been produced for it. Nintendo, put out just over 70 of those 700, a little more than 10%. The SNES had 784 games released during it's lifespan, but only 48 were published by Nintendo. So, Nintendo in it's hey day, was NOTHING BUT third party games. It's consoles traded WAY more on Third party games, than first party.

Khasym
Khasym

@Darksimm @Khasym So you're saying I shouldn't care, that Nintendo doesn't care, that I don't care? :-) That the warchest built by the Wii and the 3DS, doesn't need to be anything but spent because Nintendo is only concerned with how IT makes games, and not how others make games for their consoles?

And Let me clarify: I DO CARE about Nintendo as a company. I don't want the company that resurrected the console video game industry, almost singlehandledly, to go the way of Sega and Atari. But this is NOT how they made it to the top of the mountain. I remember NEVER liking Super Mario Brothers, Metroid, or Zelda. They're just not my games. But I DO remember owning four NES consoles, and 3 SNES consoles.

FLEEBS
FLEEBS

@Khasym @Darksimm  You can also give up on hoping for Nintendo to return to their third party glory days. That definitely will not happen this console generation, and it may not happen ever. Third party this generation definitely belongs to X1 and PS4, and Nintendo's first party exclusives will definitely hold them over until the next generation, when and where Nintendo very well may not be able to entice third parties to do very much business with them (if Nintendo once again decides to make a console not as powerful as the others, which they may likely do).

FLEEBS
FLEEBS

@Khasym I find it so strange that you "care" so much about Nintendo, but don't care about Nintendo games. As I said before, Nintendo is not the place to look for third party games, but you definitely do have a place to find them. It's obvious that Nintendo is not for you, and that's why people are telling you to go away.

Darksimm
Darksimm

@Khasym Nintendo does what it does to survive just like every other company, it makes no difference if you like it or not. We may not like alot of the choices they have made over their career, but the fact that they are still around and making the products people care about is still of value. And to clarify Nintendo made it to the top on a risk and it paid off big time for them, which they still take risks constantly (motion control twice, virtual boy and 3D, and a tablet). You should be thanking them that THEY are still the only ones taking these risks and being innovative. But instead you would sooner pout like a scolded child in a corner and complain. And one pissy child in corner means nothing to a company that still has millions apon millions of fans.

Khasym
Khasym

@Darksimm :-) I am with the times. Because I'm still gaming. I'm gaming as much if not more now, than I did when i was younger. Who is the game company that has released so many iterations of the same franchises that they can't even NUMBER them anymore? I watched Nintendo's E3 presentation, in the hope that they would change. It didn't cost me anything to watch and hope. Hope is free. The instant it costs me something I'm not willing to give up to Nintendo, si when I step back and say no.

I don't support Square Enix over what they do to Youtube content makers, I don't support Microsoft over them stealing a game from me my folks got me as a present this past christmas. I don't hate any of these three. I don't wish ruin upon them. Indeed, I HOPE they can change my mind in the future. But this isn't the future. It's now. And Nintendo needs to know that when it came to their infomercial video, it was a massive swing and a miss.

Khasym

@FLEEBS Alright, I'm gonna give you an example of how NOT to drive business away from Nintendo.
Recently a friend of mine broke his gaming fast, and got a new PS3 console. I'd been after him for years with it, not to get any specific console, but just to get A console. So that he'd have something to do besides watch TV and chat. Even though I'm not a Nintendo fan, I kept my views on the consoles even. I told him that I didn't much care for Mario or the motion controls of the Wii/U, but i'd been gaming since I was six, and his LAST console was the Gamecube. I said that the familiarity of Nintendo games, might help bridge that motion control gulf for him and it might be something he enjoys.

When he got his PS3, he wondered if he'd made a mistake, if he should have gotten a PS4 instead. KNOWING that this was the E3 they were going to announce the Gaikai service for the PS4, I told him he should keep his PS3. it has a larger list of titles that you can get for pennies on the dollar in used game form, his TV is still SD not HD, and there was no need to spend an extra $120 for a console that he might not get hooked on. He's got at least nine years of video game evolution to catch up on. There's no need to throw him into the shark tank of cutting-edge-gen games.

From what I'm seeing in all these posts, I can no longer fault Nintendo for a failing business position. It's fans, the people that drive Nintendo sales, seem so incredibly sensitive and elitist, that if you challenge them at all, they say "Go away you....you gamer! I want to keep playing my Nintendo and I hate you because you don't want to as well!"

I came to these forums hoping to see something positive. I can take honest criticism of a company. Sony's done stupid things, and MS had done MONUMENTALLY stupid things. I can defend some of their actions, and explain how they turned their negatives into positives as time rolled on. So far, I haven't seen anything of that from Nintendo fans. All I hear is "You suck!" "You're a tr0ll!!" "Get out of here!!!"

FLEEBS
FLEEBS

@Khasym @Darksimm You may have thought Nintendo had a "swing and a miss," as you say, but a whole lot of people, inside the industry and outside, think it was a home run.

abHS4L88

@Khasym

GameSpot is not really a good place to see user's who are capable of constructive criticism, there's way more of that on IGN. Also your comment points to the actions of a couple who've I also noticed. I've also noticed several users who constantly post their criticisms of Nintendo and what they would like to see while being reasonable.
