Diablo 3 Necromancer Class Confirmed
Blizzard reveals a new character class during BlizzCon 2016.
Today during the BlizzCon 2016 opening ceremony, Blizzard confirmed earlier rumors and announced that a Necromancer class is coming to Diablo III next year.
Necromancer was a beloved class in Diablo II and Blizzard's Frank Pearce said on stage at BlizzCon that Diablo III's version will be inspired by the one from that version.
He also referred to the Necromancer as a "master of the dark arts" and a "badass battlefield general." Overall, it's a character class that "takes advantage of everything Diablo has to offer," Pearce said. Classic abilities like Corpse Explosion are coming back; this is used to summon an ally.
Diablo III's Necromancer class will go on sale in a character pack in 2017, alongside "other great features." People in attendance at BlizzCon can play the character right now.

That Diablo III is getting a Necromancer class is not a complete surprise, as art discovered on Blizzard's website recently revealed let this slip.
