Destiny Emotes Now Drop As Nightfall Loot
Even the old emotes you can't buy anymore can drop as loot.
Sci-fi shooter Destiny is now allowing players to pick up old emotes as loot rewards in-game, reports indicate. Reddit user Axxx31 has reported that upon completing the weekly Nightfall event, his friend was rewarded with a Mystery Bag. This Mystery Bag contained "one emote from Fall 2015. Highly likely to contain an emote not currently owned."

The emote in question was previously sold by the NPC Tess Everis for Silver, but is no longer purchasable. Several Reddit users have also reported receiving currently available emotes by completing Nightfall. Bungie released 18 new emotes for Destiny in October. At the time they could only be bought using Silver, a currency which can be purchased using real world money. The introduction of Silver marked the game's first set of microtransaction options, which Bungie explained is being used to provide support for the live team for another year as it expands and creates more content for players.
However, with emotes now reportedly dropping as loot, players who don't wish to spend real world money now have other options. Nightfall's loot is random and the event can only be completed once for a reward, so best of luck trying to pick up a new emote.
Destiny's December update rolled out today, introducing a Sparrow Racing League for a limited time. In addition, Bungie made some weapon changes and introduced a variety of updates for classes and modes. Check out the full patch notes here.
