Bungie has brought the Destiny beta--which was expected to be offline for maintenance until tomorrow--back online early. This means gamers on Xbox 360 and Xbox One with a code can now get into the beta and begin playing, and those on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 can get back to what they've been doing since last week.
Codes for the Xbox versions of the beta are being distributed by email. Provided you've already redeemed the code on Bungie's website, your allotment of codes--everyone with access gets three codes for the platform of their choice--will also be located there.
Bungie's original plans for the beta were for it to be offline for all of yesterday and today, resuming tomorrow at 10AM Pacific. The beta runs through Sunday, July 27; those who play after 2PM Pacific on Saturday, July 26, will receive an exclusive emblem for use in the final game when it launches on September 9. Bungie teased today that it has "some surprises in store" even for those who have already been playing. Over the weekend, it launched a special Iron Banner event that took place on PS3 and PS4.
We've already spent a good deal of time with the beta. You can check out everything we know about it here.
