Avengers: Infinity War, the third movie in the Marvel superhero team-up series, is set to start production in early 2017. A new casting call for the movie has revealed some details about which characters we can expect to see in the film--including the first big screen appearance for Captain Marvel.

As reported by Omega Underground, the casting call is primarily for "extras, stand-ins, photo-doubles, and possible featured roles." However the listing, which is on moviecastingcall.org, also features a full cast list, including some previously rumoured characters.

Most notably, the list reveals that Captain Marvel will appear, ahead of her own movie in 2019. Brie Larson is listed as Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel's alter ego--Larson was announced in the role back in July.

In addition, the site shows that the full Guardians of the Galaxy cast will play a part in Infinity War. Groot actor Vin Diesel previously said that the Guardians would appear, but the casting call also states that Karen Gillan's villainous Nebula will be involved.

Elsewhere, it is stated that Black Panther, one of the latest additions to the Marvel cinematic universe, will be in there too. Spider-Man, however, is not on the list.

Infinity War will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War for Marvel. It was originally planned as two movies, but a retitling in July has meant that the second film will be something different. Although they are shooting back-to-back, the Russo brothers have stressed that they will not be two parts of the same story.

Last month, the Russos posted a new image on Instagram that shows them scouting for a location in the film. While the photo didn't reveal anything specific, it was the sort of trippy environment we might find Doctor Strange in. It has previously been confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange, will appear in Infinity War.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018, while the untitled fourth Avengers movie follows on May 3, 2019. Captain Marvel will be released on March 8, 2019.
