Destiny player pitbread10 was the 7,777,777th user of the Destiny Companion app.

"Welcome to the party, pal," Bungie wrote. "Please imagine horns celebrating your arrival and confetti raining down from a fireworks display in your honor."

The number 7 is special to Bungie. It is referenced often in the studio's games, while Bungie holds some kind of celebration every year on July 7, the seventh day of the seventh month. Bungie also has a seven-step plan to take over the world.

In other recent Destiny news, Bungie has announced plans to nerf the game's shotguns. In addition, starting October 13, Bungie will offer microtransactions in Destiny for the very first time. One analyst believes these micropayments could generate "hundreds of millions" in revenue per year.
