Although its basically the same game you've played in 2004, Alien Hominid HD manages to still be fun and entertaining.

Had enough with games on the Xbox Live Arcade that only featured classics we know and love but wishing for something updated? Well look no more as Alien Hominid HD is the next best thing to come out since Uno. Alien Hominid started as a 'prototype' at Newgrounds.com. The PC flash will live on to be played more than 6 million views. Then in 2004, the yellow alien landed on GameCube and PlayStation 2. Now 3 years later, gamers playing the Xbox 360 can now have the taste of the quirky gore. The game starts off with a cutscene of an FBI Agent shooting you riding in your UFO onto Earth.

In the game, you blast off as many enemies as you can. From FBI Agents, KGB Agents, and much much more. Without spoiling the ending, you even have to defeat a clone of you who is more buffer. The gameplay may be familiar to those who played Metal Slug, and Gunstar Heroes. When you play, you get one of the special weapons and orbs from a FAT KID, who as you progress helps you. Without having protection, you'll die by one bullet. There are some unfair deaths but 10 lives and 5 tokens should take you to at least finish one chapter of a level. There's also some special attacks which is going underground and wait to pop up to kill a person. There's another one where you can jump on a person's head and eat it. There's another one where you can use a person and make him or her roll to hit your other enemies. The special attacks are a good twist to the already exiciting gameplay. The graphics are in High Definintion (you can tell by the title) and the game looks even more cartoony but in a positive note. If there were some problems, there are sometimes frame rate issues where everything is going on so much.

There is really nothing much to say about the sound. In the actual game, shooting, blasting are simplistic but the explosions, special weapons, and the sound of attacks are really great. The only disapointment is the lack of music used. I remember that in The PDA GAMES in the GameCube, there was music while you were playing it. However, in this version there is no music leaving you only to hear the sounds of your characters, environment, and items. The tilt is great at its own right. However, when you're into hectic and diffucult situations, using the controls can leave you confused and forget which button to actually use before you die.

The local multiplayer of the game is really fun and a great party game to play with your friends who come over to your house. The online multiplayer of the game is both great and sometimes disapointing. First off, there's NO ONLINE CO-OP. None, I repeat, None. I know its not worth to buy the game, but you have to understand. The Behemoth only has 25-30 guys working on 2 games at the same time, so its pretty tough. Although with that disapointment aside, you can play the mini-games online. Kind of like playing the online version of Mario Party (2/3/4/5) with not a lot of mini-games (you only get to play 2). When playing online, its really fun to play with 3 other people. In PDA, you laugh as you one of you or yourself dies. In All You Can Eat, you laugh as you try to win shouting "X AND A, Baby!". The multiplayer is very fun offline and online. When the match is done, you are set back to the main menu where you have to make another match again if you want to. Some mini-games are mainly challenges from the single-player that aren't that fun at some points but most of time, it is quite enjoyable. The great mini-game I find to have most fun online is the PDA GAMES (recommendation!).

Overall, the game is superb. With the satisfying gameplay, the cute cartoony but gorey visuals, the pleasing and interesting sound and music, and an okay tilt. This perfect package is worth buying for anyone who hasn't played the PS2 and GC versions and others.

The Good: Old school gameplay is still fun, the great visuals that puts a twist with its cute and gorey 2D graphics, the sound, fun party game local and online

The Bad: Lack of music unlike the PS2 and GC versions, sometimes confusing tilt, some frame rate issues, difficult achivements, NO ONLINE CO-OP, some unfair deaths, you have to unlock the minigames as well
