Alice Madness Returns

User Rating: 8 | Alice: Madness Returns PS3
Alice Madness Returns is a fresh new game and very unique, I must point out that it's very underrated.
**WARNING: This mite have some spoiling.**

*Gameplay 9/10
Surprisingly great gameplay. Shooting, Bashing, dodging and Slicing through enemies with it's own unique weapons is addictive. You won't find yourself getting bored fighting off whatever faces you. You must defeat almost every enemy differently as they all have their own weak spot, this becomes interesting when different enemies surround you as you're constantly switching from a weapon to another, it's simply fun.
-You can upgrade your weapons by collecting teeth, they become more exciting to you and powerful.

Alice can jump around four times and also glide for a while, you'll learn how it works perfectly after fifteen to thirty minutes. The ability of jumping multiple times (which is more like a hop in the air) will save you from falling sometimes.

Something you don't see much, Alice shrinks (by holing one of the shoulder buttons) whenever you want after she drinks the potion. ''Shrink Sense'' obviously makes you tiny but you'll see helpful drawing, paths and some keyholes that are hidden by something (example a rock). When you're back to normal the drawings & paths will slowly fade away but they are still there.
-Shrinking is a helpful way to find hidden items and teeth, also it leads you were you must go.

When health is low you get the chance to use Hysteria by pressing the L3 button. Hysteria makes you invincible and stronger but only for a short amount of time, it can come in handy.

Game moves with chapters and each chapter is very long, very different and it gets harder from the previous.

Some little parts during the the game you'll find yourself playing differently, as in controlling a ship, enter a painting and play as Alice in 2D, rolling doll heads, chess-like, giant etc. Helps the game stay fresh and exciting.

During each chapter you're out of her twisted Wonderland and instead you're running around London.

Invisible walls don't get in the way, completed the game without complaining about it. Some reviewers exaggerated.

Game mite have tiny glitches but you'll find yourself learning to deal with them as they don't effect the game much. Loading is time is good and it sometimes loads during gameplay which is noticeable but it won't get in your way.

*Graphics/Art Design 8/10
The graphics are stunning and Alice looks wonderful, the people are unrealistic but it's meant to be that way and it fits the game perfectly...

The old Gothic Victorian London looks stunning and Wonderland looks twisted and beautiful. I love and appreciate the dark, Gothic Victorian style, even some of Alice's dresses are wicked to check out. People who are like me will find themselves looking around a certain area especially further on the game, because it was done very well without exaggerating the style keeping it simple yet fascinating.

Enemies are interesting and yet again... unique. Keeping the Wonderland theme but making enemies more dark and mad.

Everything works perfectly together. Some parts of the game the graphics will take a second or two to get focused well and Alice's hair can move a lot when it shouldn't but once again it won't effect the game itself.

*Sound 9.5/10
Graphics made a amazing job and the soundtrack completes the theme of the game.

Beautiful, eerie, very classy and dark Gothic feel. It manages to put the feeling of madness and confusion in the game, sometimes an eerie crazy sound to it which fits perfectly to the Dollhouse area. The soundtrack is without doubt a well done.
The voice acting is done well.

*Value 8/10
Want to finish all achievements/trophies? Then you've got some things to do like completing every difficulty mode which can become challenging and finding all secret items etc.

DLC is also available giving Alice costumes not just to wear but to help, they mite be very helpful especially for certain difficulties... (check the DLC for Alice online for more information)

Buying the will give you a free DLC game which is the original American McGee's Alice in HD (which was on the PS just in case you missed it) .

Multiple glitches can become annoying, but you'll learn to deal with them.
