Back in the day this game I enjoyed it even when the game kicked my butt. For me this was the first game where I would have to multi-task in order to kill my enemy and plunder his lands. Also civilians were fair game for once and were a key to winning or losing. I remember the things that made me mad the most was when I ran out of resources and when an enemy priest converted key units from my side to it’s side.
One thing I really enjoyed the most was the map editor or scenario editor. I would make a map that would look like a park my friends and I would play laser tag at. I would reenact some of the battles we had with knights and axmen ‘n stuff.
Overall it’s a great start to the series.
