A great strategy game, that is challenging, fun and unique. The game requires some thinking to beat.

You wouldn't expect from it's cute art style, that Advance wars would have any real challenge to it, but it does. Although it starts off slow, as you progress, more units are introduced to you and the game becomes much more complicated.

Advance Wars has a rock=paper=scissors style of play to it, where every unit is strong against some things, but weak against others. For example, a bomber is strong against tanks and most ground troops, but will be annihilated by missles, and the missiles will be easily taken out by the ground troops that the bomber is strong against. It sounds simple, but when your using dozens of units, the game requires some planning.

I love Advance Wars style of play, but I'm not a fan of the super-colorful art style and kiddie story line. It's too childish. It also has some awful dialogue. Dialogue so bad it will make you cringe. Other than that, Advance Wars is a pretty sweet game. I had a blast with it.
