I really enjoyed this game from the beginning, but by the end I was ready for it to be over.
From the start, I really liked how the game makes you feel like you are playing an MMORPG. It's so cool to trade for weapons and armor from people who appear to be playing the game also.
I also like being able to randomly generate the various levels in which you can choose to adventure. Unfortunately, each level offers about the same content. Not much variety from level to level with the exception of difficulty. You mix words that will be used to select the various sections of the game. These words will also determine the difficulty of each dungeon.
The gameplay is very basic. You choose a level, collect lots of crazy items, fight lots of enemies and gain experience.
I feel that the story is the strength of this game, but not strong enough to persuade me to finish the game. I only had a handful of hours left before finishing this first installment of .hack, but by that point I was already too bored.
