One of my personal favorite SNES games.

User Rating: 9.6 | Zombies Ate My Neighbors SNES
Zombies Ate My Neighbors (ZAMN) was released in 1993 for the SNES and it was made by Konami. The story to the game was:
''The notorious Dr. Tongue has created a lethal, seemingly endless, hoard of dreadful, terrifying monsters into Zeke and Julie's peaceful, quiet town. It is obvious that Dr. Tongue wants to rule the entire town, and possibly the world. It is up to Zeke and Julie to save their town by going through each level and saving as many as 10 victims in each one. Enemies will be after them, so they must stock up. Will there be an end to Dr. Tongue's MADNESS!?!?!''

But basically, you controlled either a boy or a girl and you went through many levels killing zombies. ZAMN felt like a horror game. Zombies could come out of anywhere, from all directions and even from the ground. In each level, you have to rescue your neighbors before they were killed by zombies. So you had to rush through the levels as fast as you could. If a couple neighbors die, no problem, you just get as much points. When all neighbors are rescued or killed, a door opens up for you to leave the level. Many levels are mocked off of real horror movies. Theres a level called "Nightmare on Terror Street" mocking off the 80's franchise "Nightmare on Elm Street". Another level has a masked madman running around with a chainsaw. This is a combination of Jason and Leatherface. Theres a level mocking "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" that has giant babies running around. The game has a larger variety of "questionable" weapons: tomatoes, water guns, popsicles, plates and forks, and much more.

The graphics in ZAMN are pretty awesome. The characters and backgrounds are slighyl colorful, but are still dark and gloomy, and it looked like a pure horror game. The graphics couldnt get any better than this.

The sound/audio in this game is perfect. Some tracks are cartoony, but most are intense, fast paced, and matched the game perfectly. The main theme song in this game is so catchy and addicting I literally downloaded it on my computer. The sounds of the zombies attacking, or grunting are great. The sounds that the weapons make are done well too.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors had it all, catchy songs, superb graphics, a chessy story that resembled an 80's horror movie, and over 45 levels of fun. But the game never really became popular, and is a cult classic. And the game is veyr addicting, you'll see yourself playing the game over and over. If you still have a working SNES and can find this game, do yourself a favor and get it.
