Pretty Good but a little lacking in some parts

User Rating: 8.5 | Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Spirit Summoner DS
I'm going to start straight and to the point. This game is fun, but repetitive. I happened to enjoy this game when I first got it, but who doesn't enjoy most games when they first get it? However, a few hours in, I found this game getting a little tedious and annoying. I am going to break down the different aspects of this game and try to help you decide if you want to get this game or not.

Storyline: 8/10

It is exactly like the anime except you do most of the things Jaden does on the show. Goes though the Shadow Riders storyline and into the Dark Zane/GX tornement storyline. My only problem is that they don't really conclude the Zane thing at all.

Controls: 7/10

You search out your opponents on the touch screen. You can either duel them with the stylus or the D-pad and buttons. It is a little tedious searching out the one person you want and sifting out the others.

Gameplay: 5/10

The gameplay is the let down in this one. Spending hours of searching for the next event, only to find out you need to advance another level. However they made an improvement of NT by forcing you to level up. I beat NT at level 4 but I actually had to spend time to get to the next section of the game, not just going from event to event.

Sound: 6/10

I've gotten mixed reviews on this one, although some say the dueling music is enjoyable, changing with the tide of the duel, others find this just annoying.

Others:

You can customize your avatar with different uniforms duel discs and duel spirits, little guys who help you out on tests, buying cards, or trying to register duelists on your PDA. There are 16 spirits, 8 discs and 12 uniforms to collect, not to mention over 1000 cards including cards from the pack Cyberdark Impact.

Conclusion:

Some people may like this game, others may want to get the new YGO WC 2008. I have had fun with this game and hope anyone who gets it will also enjoy it.

Please tell me what you think of my review.

Peace
