Great Yoga Teacher - I'm sticking with it!

User Rating: 8 | YOGA MASTER PS4

I downloaded this for the PS4 shortly before lock down - I couldn't then foresee then how useful it would become.

I'd always wanted to get into Yoga because I feel my body is tight and inflexible - in common I guess with many +50 year olds - however

I found I could never quite click with books or youtube videos (although there are some excellent ones out there), and Yoga classes

at my gym were always middle of the day when I couldn't make it. So I thought I'd give this a go.

The graphics look a bit dated but this isn't exactly going to sell like the new COD so I think on balance they are good for what you might

reasonably expect, it is certainly quite pleasing visually in places (menu screens, Japanese Garden)

On to the actual Yoga. So far I have simply worked my way through all the 'easy' programs, and there are plenty of them which is nice - you get a fantastic variety

which is the hardest thing to achieve when working yoga out for yourself or even from youtube. You can also make up your own programs from the full list of 150 poseds

which is handy - sometimes you just want to do the routine that you know suits you!

You get a choice of three female instructors - who are not dramatically different in any way - so it doesn't

matter who you choose really. A 'selling point' is the customisable background but again it is only a choice of a few backgrounds with a few effects - none of which actually makes much difference.

I think you can easily follow the programs which is the main point - I am a total novice to Yoga but have done 30 minutes - 50 minutes almost every day now for several months - I've even invested in a decent mat - so it's working for me. Occasionally I'm waiting to see what they do before attempting it

- but I don't think that's much different to an actual class.

I tried to get an auto coach but it failed to find a course for me. Also I don't have a move controller so can't comment on that side of it.

They must have listened to feedback on the voice as an update came along with a new more human one, however I changed the setting back as I actually

quite liked the more monotone original voice, even with some of it's quirks, because it wasn't overly distracting and can be actually quite meditative.

Overall I rate it - it's got me going with Yoga and long may that continue.
