A very good game with very little problems.

Yakuza is a good game. The action is fast paced and exciting. The combat system is simple but not shallow. The visuals are amazing for a 2005 ps2 game and audio is good in the sound effects and sound track. There is also a lot to do and there is some replay value. The story while having some cliches is very good. The game exceles at immersing you in its story and world.

There are some problems do. One, there can potentially be a lot of random battles that slow you down, this can be mitigated in one of two ways, 1 equip the item "Lucky beads" and random battles will stop. The other way is to just suck it up and fight a lot, eventually Kazuma will be built up to a point where the random battles will stop until you get to chapter 11. Another problem is the voice acting, like what is common in most english dubbed anime yakuza has some iffy voice acting. Some characters have tolerable voices: majima, shimano, fuma, nishiki and some times Kazuma (his voice sounds different in certain cut scenes) but the rest of the characters have bad voice acting and have trouble pronouncing japanese words. My only other complaint is that during fights the camera will get stuck behind walls, this tends to happen in battles where you and your opponent dodge a in a medium sized combat zone.

Overall yakuza is a very good game and I will definitely buy the sequel.
