User Rating: 9.5 | Xenoblade WII
(+) Great story, plenty of sidequests, deep and addictive combat
(-) minor camera issues, makes other games boring!

Xenoblade Chronicles is a game I am very glad made its way to the US since the Wii was really needing some quality titles for its fans. Anyway Xenoblade's story starts out with the Bionis and the Mechonis the two worlds fought and ended with a draw. A man named Shulk trying to uncover the secret of a special weapon called the Monado. He meets up with his friend Reyn and the game shows a tutorial of the games battle system. You have moves called arts that can do damage give buffs and many other things each have a cooldown were you have to wait a certain amount of time to use them again. After the battle you will gain exp and art points in which you can use to improve the effectiveness of your arts.

The environments you go through are rich and full of detail. Xenoblade's soundtrack is well done and really helps make it a more enjoyable experience. Xenoblade's story has many twists that will pull you into playing several hours at a time. The game has many fun bosses that are fun and a good story which really makes you want to know what happens next.

The characters are fun to use in battle in vary in many ways. Characters have affinity for each other which can be gained by heart to hearts conversations were you choose what to say about certain subjects you are rewarded if you get it right but are punished with a decrease if you get it wrong but many of them are easy while others are not. The characters will say some funny things after they win like Reyn will say "lets not loose our heads though," and sometimes get into conversations. Xenoblade is fun enough to beat several times without getting bored since you can make so many variations on your characters like increasing their max health or allowing them to wear heavy armor.

The best controls for Xenoblade is actually the wii remote and nunchuck the classic controller just wouldn't work quite as well performing arts quickly in battle is difficult with it while it is easy with the Wii remote and nunchuck combo since you can scroll arts with the nunchuck's stick and press a to use the art. Also the menus can be a pain to navigate with the classic controller only use it if you are used to hitting a side button for selecting things honestly I just did not think it felt right since I haven't needed to use it.

The English voices were well done the accents didn't bother me but the Japanese voices were too similar and didn't seem to have nearly as much effort put into them but I have to admit that Shulk's jump was hilarious because he sounded exactly like Link.

Xenoblade Chronicles is a great RPG that is worth more than its cost the long length, the interesting story, and depth in the battle system will make you think other things you play seem boring, and the replayablity is great since I have already completed it twice and am going for a 3rd completion. If you have a Wii you should definitely get this game you would not be disappointed unless you just don't like RPGs.
