First Tile-Based Strategy game ever played...

Got this game few months on the PS4 plus free lineup, and it was a hell of good experience. At first, it was very risky and you have no idea what to do due to it having too many mechanics. Like budgeting your own captain money and efficiently allocating time, it reminds me of CaC games or Sid Meirs, it was like a "real-time" strategy experience.

So did the gameplay, every move you take did count on the upcoming result of the battle (especially if you are being spotted), and it was also kind of intense due to it having a move limitation mechanic. In that case, you must play efficiently as possible to have the best outcome, but hey, the AI enemies has also some kind of "RNG" feeling, while some of them are not.

Speaking of RNG and Attacking, it also affects your own trained troops on the battlefield, making it some kind of annoying. The most annoying probably if your shots have missed on the opponents, making either your opponent makes a counterattack or luckily it would have also missed.

And there was also a thing called the Avatar Project (it's the opponents' breakthrough project to ensure defeat on you.) The thing has it's own countdown timer and you are the one only that could make it worser, or better. Deploy your troops to missions ASAP to worsen their project advancement, or for worse, you could make their better if you didn't have any plans to destroy their secret plans, by not attacking any enemy HQ or somehow gets defeated on the series of battles with them!

So you have to be 100000% careful when playing this game, in order to produce better results. But don't feel shame if you tend to wipe all of your troops and bankrupting your own money. You could only learn some games by experience and I only tend to warn you on what you expect :)
