Man, I don't know why Gamespot underrates this game, since it reasonably deserves at least an 8. To be honest, I'm not even a fan of Wolverine, but I like its last movie, so I decided to give this game a shot. Turn out, I totally satisfy with my choice.

I can tell that the developers of this game sure tried to put efforts to make it stand out from the shadow of a blockbuster movie franchise. Guess what, you might disagree with me at first but you'll change after finishing it, because I think the game is somewhat better than the movie in term of boss fights (i.e. with Victor, Blob, and Gambit); especially, you will get into fighting a gigantic robot, which is really kool, and this's certainly not in the movie I bet!!! You sure can feel the sense of brutality for the sake of fun. Also, combos and slow-mo are fun and satisfying to watch.

The puzzles are nice to be in the games, 'cuz they're not too easy but also not too hard, they're just enough to slow you down for a while to think and give you a break from the noise of brutal killing.
What I like best about this game and also the thing that I've never experienced in other games I played is the excellent mixture of levels along the storyline. As a result, I didn't feel too long wandering inside the lab, since the game switches me between the grey metal and the green forest nicely once in a while.

Gamespot is partially right when it says this game is a copycat, because I really could feel God of War at some points, but there are also improvements. Hey, I cannot remember any RPG element in GoW whatsoever, but there's one right here in Wolverine game. Although the RPG here is not that deep like an actual RPG game (since we cannot expect that in a hardcore action games obviously), it seems to be nice and adequate to give you some boosts here and there whenever you level up and get back to the character modifying screen.

Last but not least, this is the very first game on next-gen console that I can see the good old CG cutscenes, not the in-game graphic as most of other current-gen games out there in the market nowadays. You've heard me right guys, you're gonna witness the beauty of cinematic CG cutscenes again in this game, and they're done beautifully, trust me! Just wish there would've been more of those.

In brief, I would happily grant this game 8.5, but i'll bonus it a 0.5 extra for a little protest toward Gamespot's strict judgement [~.^]
