Great gameplay and great detail despite underlying problems

User Rating: 9 | WWII Battle Tanks: T-34 vs. Tiger PC
T34 vs Tiger is certainly one of the best battle tank simulations to date. It realistically portrays major tanks from both Russia & Germany from the war.

The graphics are just reaching dated; I can liken it to playing the original Crysis. Tank models are excellent. Forests look great with maxed settings. My only complaint is the buildings. It seems the russian countryside has only 4 types of buildings, and they aren't particularly nice to look at. Overall graphics: 8

The player can actually switch between being the driver, gunner, and commander of his tank, and will see the battle from each person's point of view. Gun sights are realistic and firing/reloading sounds follow accurately and sound great. After firing, you will hear the clank of the shell hitting the floor and the next shell being put in. The crew members will also shout out when it's loaded. When the commander is automated, he will shout out targets and their general location. Overall level of detail : 9

As others have mentioned installing and running this game are next to impossible. It will work with XP, however. I installed this game on four computers, and it successfully ran on two of them (one with 7 x64, the other with XP x32). I'm also not sure if certain video cards are compatible or not, but this is how it ended up for me:
NVIDIA GTS250 + Win 7 = runs + plays fine, stable
ATI HD4650 + Win XP = runs + plays fine, unstable (crashed twice in 3 hours)
Intel GMA4500MHD = will not play
AMD HD6870 = will not play

If you're lucky enough to have a computer that will play this game, you're in for a great many hours of enjoyment busting tanks.
