This is quite possibly the quentessential must have wrestling game of all time. It defined the genre and has yet to see an equal, even now in 2008. This is the only wrestling game, if anybody ever plays it, you will ever need to play for years and years. As it is simply impossible to make a wrestling game look as real as the real thing, this useless graphical upgrade we get year after year is useless. I would much rather have the approximations we get with this game in the simulation of reality than the continual trying every year trying to make the game look like the real thing. This game has the best controls of any wrestler ever, better than anything we have seen with the newer systems since the venerable 64. If any wrestler wants to be as successful as past wrestlers then try the winning formula from this game, a metric ton of wrestlers, exact controls as this game and a ton more of classic wrestlers to choose from, not just some, all of them.
